Single-sided paper substrate
Category: Standard circuit board
Product Details
The paper-based substrate uses phenolic resin-impregnated copper-clad laminates made from phenolic paper as the core material for printed circuit boards, a material widely adopted in the electronics manufacturing industry. Its core structure consists of two layers of high-purity copper foil bonded together via a thermocompression process with an insulating paper base saturated with phenolic resin, creating a composite material system that combines excellent electrical conductivity with superior mechanical strength. A key feature of this material is its flame-retardant performance, which meets the UL94 HB standard. Specifically, during vertical burning tests, the sample exhibits a slow flame spread rate and can self-extinguish within 30 seconds after the ignition source is removed—without igniting the medical-grade degreased cotton placed beneath it. This exceptional flame-retardant property makes it particularly well-suited for electronic devices where fire safety is critical, such as control boards for household appliances or industrial power modules. Compared to materials with higher flame-retardant ratings, the 94 HB-rated phenolic paper-based copper-clad laminate not only maintains excellent processing characteristics but also effectively controls production costs, making it the preferred choice for mid-to-low-end electronic product applications. Additionally, the specially treated insulating paper base delivers outstanding electrical insulation performance while retaining stable physical properties even in humid environments, ensuring the reliable operation of printed circuit boards under challenging conditions.
Features: Low cost, minimal bending and twisting with high stability, and easy to process.
Applications: Primarily used in consumer electronics such as televisions, tape recorders, radio-cassette players, audio equipment, game consoles, telephones, and household appliances.
In recent years, the application areas of these substrate materials have been steadily expanding—now even being used in power substrates for oscilloscopes (CRTs) and office automation equipment (OA machines).
